03: gaming community trust & reach

This project focused on the gaming and entertainment community, specifically gamers within The Sims and simulation genre audiences. At the time, the gaming community was facing rising distrust in YouTubers’ sponsored content and gaming companies’ transparency. Audiences lacked spaces where issues could be discussed openly and where their concerns were validated.

I was brought in to design a campaign that would:

  • build trust by openly addressing concerns about the upcoming inZOI game

  • foster meaningful, discussion-driven engagement

  • strengthen community connection around shared values of honesty and transparency.

the strategy

  • Conduct audience analysis to identify pain points around trust, sponsorships, and lack of authentic critique in gaming content

  • Develop a news-driven engagement framework combining investigative storytelling, audience polls, and comment-driven discussions

  • Implement transparency rituals, such as data-backed insights and open Q&As, to build credibility with viewers

  • Position the channel as a safe, community-first space rather than a promotional outlet.

the impact

  • Gained 8,568 organic views and over 1,082 watch hours, largely from browse features and suggested videos, reflecting strong topic relevance

  • Achieved a 9% impression click-through rate, significantly above industry averages, demonstrating community interest and trust

  • Sparked ongoing community dialogue in comments, strengthening relationships and brand authority in the gaming space

  • Reinforced the channel’s reputation as a trusted voice for evidence-based and transparent gaming analysis.
