05: multi-platform support ecosystem

The Ego Next Door project was designed for an online audience of domestic violence victims and individuals affected by coercive relationships. Existing platforms lacked community-driven content that provide credible, empathetic resources and safe spaces to share their experiences.

I was brought in to create a multi-platform ecosystem that would:

  • build trust through authentic, trauma-informed storytelling

  • foster a safe online space for connection and support

  • drive organic engagement & audience growth across podcast, YouTube, and socials.

the strategy

  • Conduct behavioural research to identify key triggers, barriers, and motivators for survivors seeking support online

  • Design a community architecture blending podcast episodes, YouTube videos, and private discussion channels to meet survivors at multiple touchpoints

  • Implement rituals for connection, including live Q&As, survivor-led interviews, and moderated discussions to nurture trust and peer-to-peer support

  • Establish clear tone-of-voice and content guidelines to ensure all communications were trauma-sensitive and supportive.

the impact

  • Built a multi-platform community of 3,800+ engaged followers across YouTube, podcast platforms, and social media

  • Generated 110K+ total video views with a sustained 4–5% click-through rate, entirely through organic growth

  • Established safe spaces where members reported increased feelings of connection and validation

  • Strengthened peer-to-peer support within the community, reducing reliance on central moderators and increasing long-term sustainability.
