Dare: a poetry book
This book is a diary of writings from October 2019 to November 2020.
The months before the pandemic started were a blur. I had gotten out of a long, abusive relationship and had to start my life from zero. A month later, the most important person in my life passed away in an accident. At the time, I found myself not only emotionally alone but physically as well, in total confinement triggered by the coronavirus lockdown in a small village in Portugal.
Due to these events, my mental health worsened, and so I started writing again—a poetry diary that accompanied my healing journey. A year later, I decided to edit, design, and self-publish my first book. All in all, this book is composed of self-discovery, freedom, and love in all forms inspired by a year marked by losses and, consequently, big wins.
The book contains month chapters and all text is ordered by date. Single pages with larger text mostly consist of thoughts and phrases, which are accompanied by a short contextual description of the moment they were conceived.
The main language is English but inside, you will also find original text in Portuguese, French, and Spanish.
All content includes the original text language, followed by its translation to English.
